This is the first issue of the bilingual online magazine চিত্ত-চেতনা, published under the banner MindTalkers. The goal is simple. To create a neutral space for folks who love to write – be they established writers or a total amateur writer. Creativity is beautiful. Having the opportunity to read these write-ups has been an honor for me. I hope the readers like them too.
This issue is supposed to be the Eid-ul-Fitr edition but due to several issues, things fell back a little. But the good part is the delay proved to be beneficial as that brought us some additional writings from our esteemed writers.
Nowadays, Eid in GTA feels no less like any Eid spent back home in different parts of Bangladesh. The enthusiasm, joy, and happiness that it brings to all Muslims is heart-warming. Spring is coming to Ontario. Days are warming up quickly from the wintry conditions, and the pleasant new green growth is about to inundate us. Tulips and daffodils are already blooming, birds are out in droves. Can’t wait for summer to arrive. One of my favorite activities is gardening–growing vegetables. I am already starting seedlings indoors, and planning my planting strategies.
We have just come out of the debilitating COVID era and hopped into an increasingly dangerous situation as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which along with a few other factors brought economic hardship for many. Looking forward to seeing a better time in the coming days.
Wishing you all Eid Mubarak and happy spring!
